Jay is the creator and primary portfolio manager of the Global Infrastructure product at FAF Advisors, which invests in listed infrastructure companies. He is also co-lead manager of the Real Estate Securities product, which invests primarily in equity real estate investment trusts.
Starting work in the financial services industry in 1995, Jay joined FAF Advisors in 2005. Previously, he served as vice president and real estate portfolio manager for Advantus Capital Management and real estate fixed-income analyst at Sit Investment Advisors. Prior to those positions, Jay was a development manager for office and office/warehouse products at Welsh Companies and a land use planner at Siemon, Larsen & Marsh in Chicago. As an FAF Advisors spokesperson on real estate issues, Jay has been quoted in publications such as BusinessWeek and The Wall Street Journal.
Jay graduated from the University of Wisconsin - Madison where he received a B.S. in geography and international relations. He received a master's degree in urban planning and public policy from the University of Illinois - Chicago.
